Welcome to Created to Learn!
We were created to learn through circumstances, through the Word of God, through books, through marriage and children. The love of learning is a God-given desire I hope to teach my two young girls along with a love of books. Travel along with us, a new-to-homeschooling family, as we explore the world around us through books. If you have suggestions on books or tools that would benefit my family, please contact me. I would be glad to review them.
This week's Hunt theme is two. This is a picture of me on the left and my cousin Jenn on the right about a week after we had our babies. Two gals, with two new babies who are two days apart. And by the way, we are also "double" cousins, meaning our dad's are cousins and our mom's are cousins (no inbreeding though, I promise:).
What's funkier than the 70s? My friend Robin and I participated in a Vintage Fashion Show where we sported 70s attire and danced the catwalk disco-style. Scroll down to see my retro outfit.
That's Scamp riding "Tiny." He was really good about it. She continued to sit and hug and kiss him for several minutes after this photo. She just loves animals.
There are lots of shadows: shadows in the background, shadows on Scamp's face. This photo reminds me of her innocence. She is such a precious blessing (even when she's fussy). I am so thankful for God's wonderful gift!
What else could be sweeter than a lap full of sweet Scamp and a bowl full of chocolate brownie with ice cream? I fixed that bowl for me. But one glimpse of chocolate from Scamp, and she's stealing my bite!
This one was hard, but I've been wanting to post these pictures for awhile. You can see the shine of the glass door and probably the smudgy hand-prints in certain places as well. Scamp loves her kitkat and couldn't believe he wasn't hiding from her this time. Our kitkat was smart, knowing she couldn't reach him through that glass.
Scamp had a hair-raising good time on her cousin Alex's trampoline last fall. She hadn't learned the basics of bouncing yet, but she sure shocked us all with her static electricity.
It's all about the shoes! Scamp loves new shoes. If I see some cute ones in her size in the store, and try them on her, we can't leave without them because she cries to take them home. I've leaned my lesson. Don't try unless I plan to buy!
My hubby makes the best homemade pizzas and lately he's been letting Scamp help him. She loves helping her daddy! The second picture is one of his most recent creations, homemade breakfast pizza with eggs and hot dogs! It actually tasted pretty good, and Scamp loved it!
Five little cousins sittin' in a wagon. One fell asleep while the others are laggin'. Out in a corn field, freezin' their fannies All cuddled up 'neath a blanket of Shannie's! (Aunt Shannie that is:) Emmy, Scamp, Ian, Drew, and Gavin. Now that's a photo that's really worth havin'!
Childhood to me means play, pretending, and having fun. Here's a picture of the girls at one of our family's birthday parties. From left are Haley (a family friend), Abby (my cousin celebrating her birthday), and Alex (my niece). They borrowed some dress up clothes from 5 year old Erin, who couldn't believe they took them!
My family and I are leaving for a short trip to Gatlinburg, so I want be able to view anyone else's photos until Sunday or Monday. Have a great hunt!
You don't see too many smokin' trees around!! This was last summer, out in the field next to my sister's house. Lightening has struck this tree over and over again, and yet it still continues to stand!
Practice makes perfect. Here's Scamp at 10 months before she could walk, taking a crack at climbing the outside of our staircase. This is her at 18 months showing off to her Daddy! "Hey, look at me! I can climb all the way up now!"
