Swimwear Giveaway

Christina from LWH is hosting a great giveaway. A giftcard for free clothing. I would use the giftcard on a new swimsuit. I so need a new one this summer since having my little one several weeks ago, something with a little more coverage if you know what I mean. And Layers Clothing that is giving away the giftcard away is the right kind of place. There goal is to provide stylish yet conservative clothing in our show-as-much-flesh-as-possible-without-getting-arrested society. It is so hard to find clothing, especially swimsuits that give you the right coverage and still allow you to sport a young, stylish look. So, visit LWH to see how you can enter too.

My Best Friend's Wedding

One of my closest friends, Janice, got married a couple of weekends ago. We had a full week of activities with showers and rehearsals. This was at the rehearsal dinner. Scamp has to take a purse filled with her most needed essentials everywhere we go. This pirate hat and princess top just happened to be handy for this occasion.

Beef was one of the groomsmen in the wedding. He cleans up well, huh?

This is Janice and I. I loved her dress.

We had a great Memorial Weekend. We had lunch with some friends on Saturday and a big cookout with Matt's family on Monday. They pulled out the inflatable water slide from last year, and the kids played on that all day. Click on the link to see pictures from last year. Scamp was a bit hesitant to get on at first, so we left her alone. Then, she climbed up and went down by herself. We couldn't get her off the slide after that.

Singing Songs

I have a favorite song I sing with each girl. Funny, but you think the songs would be sweet lullabies. They aren't. Scoodle's is Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice. We bounce and dance to the chorus, and Scamp even tries to sing it. Scamp's song was Hot Stuff by Donna Summer. Scoodle likes that one, too. I have know idea why I chose those particular songs. They aren't necessarily my favorites, but they are fun and have a nice beat to groove, too.

Mothers of the Bible Tour

(Homeland, CA) - If you've ever wished for a real live interview from an experienced mother found in God's Word, you'll be thrilled with the message of Kathi Macias' new book, Mothers of the Bible Speak to Mothers of Today. Thankfully the trials, heartaches and transitions mothers face are not new to this generation. Traveling back in time with Eve, Hannah, Sarah, Mary and others, readers will recognize the common struggles that still plague our world today.

This hardback gift book gently calls women to study the lives of biblical moms who were challenged with their own set of circumstances. From fear to insecurities, heartbreak to disappointments -- Kathi's words capture the heart of every woman with hope and encouragement to become the mother God wants them to be. After studying these fifteen biblical mothers, readers will have a solid example of biblical parenting. At the end of each chapter, mothers will find a special place for prayer and application.

Award-winning author Kathi Macias has written almost 30 books, including Beyond Me, How Can I Run a Tight Ship When I'm Surrounded by Loose Cannons?, the best-selling devotional A Moment a Day, and the popular "Matthews" mystery novels. She has written commentary for Thomas Nelson's Spirit-Filled Life Bible (Student Edition) and was part of the devotional writing team for Zondervan's New Women's Devotional Bible. She has ghostwritten for several prominent individuals including Josh McDowell. Kathi has won many awards, including the Angel Award from Excellence in Media, fiction awards from the San Diego Christian Writers Guild, and the grand prize in an international writing contest. A mother and grandmother, Kathi and her husband, Al, call California home.
Mothers of the Bible
Speak to the Author

As a wife, mother, grandmother--and yes, even a great-grandmother to two-year-old Isaiah--you'd think I'd have this "mom" thing wired by now, wouldn't you? Surprise! We never get too old to learn, and what I learned in my study of Mothers of the Bible has enriched nearly every area and relationship of my life. God loves mothers. We were His idea, after all! And His purpose for our lives as mothers unfolds in beauty and meaning as we listen to the words of the mothers of the Bible....

My friend, Karie, from my MOPS group offered to take Scoodle's newborn pictures. She did a fabulous job. Just look how precious my baby is. Karie posted the pictures at her photography blog, In The Orchard.
